Attractive terminal emulator, PowerShell interface and SSH/Telnet client that's fully customizable packed with included themes and many configuration options.
Tabby is a free and open source terminal emulator app and SSH/telnet client developed by Eugeny for Windows. It's modern, customizable, powerful, attractive and light on system resources.
The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of Tabby to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this terminal emulation program.
Powerful and customizable terminal application and SSH client
Tabby is an infinitely customizable cross-platform terminal app for local shells, serial, SSH and Telnet connections.
The open source tool Tabby proves that the command line in Windows doesn't have to be boring with its great looks and clever functions.
Tabby, previously known as Terminus, is a so-called terminal emulator that can replace the supplied command line under Windows. It supports CMD and also PowerShell commands. In addition, the tool is completely Unicode-compatible, saves the status of the tabs and still looks very cool.
Before you start using text commands on Windows, you should visit Tabby's settings. There are interesting details to adjust, such as different themes, positioning of tabs and, above all, the acrylic effect, which lets the background shine through.
How transparent the background should be can be conveniently set using a slider. Tabby also masters shortcuts and plugins. Anyone who often works with Linux servers will find the built-in SSH client useful.
